The alignment of individual cells may be modified using the buttons at the top of the palette. This is accomplished by selecting the desired cell(s) by placing the caret at the cell or highlighting the cells and clicking button D for decimal, L for quad left; C for quad center; or R for quad right.
To left align and center a box head over a column, move the cursor to the desired box head and click HC.. To left align a box head over a column, move the cursor to the desired box head and click HL. Highligting allows for applying the same attribute to multiple columns.
Bal is used to distribute excess space among user defined variables and to set and reset tab parameters. It is not necessary to highlight the area to be balanced if all of the data following the cursor point is to be balanced. If text is highlighted only the highlighted area will be balanced.
Delete, Recall, Save, Setup:
Dele... displays a dialog box which allows the selection of items that will be deleted from a highlighted area of a table when the delete button is pressed on the dialog box.
Delete Selection Dialog Box: This dialog box sets up those items that were generated by ProTabsXT (rules, indents, and boxes) to be deleted. The deletion only becomes effective if the items are highlighted and the Delete button on the palette is pressed. Check each item that you wish to be deleted. Deleting items in this manner will cause them to be regenerated when the table is again rebalanced. To inhibit there regeneration check the Auto Rules Master Lock on the Setup dialog box. Items may also be deleted by using the Quark main menu selection Item. and selecting Delete .Deleting items in this way will inhibit their regeneration until the hidden text is also deleted which must be done with this dialog box.
Auto Rules. Those rules generated when either Auto Rules or Auto Vert are selected for a column.
Horizontal Rules. Those rules generated manually by the Straddle Palette.
Vertical Rules. Those vertical rules generated manually by the Straddle Palette.
Straddle Indent. Indent generated for straddle text.
Anchored Boxes. Those boxes generated when Auto Box is checked for a column.
Vertical Marks. Hidden Text generated for storing top position of vertical rules.
Other Hidden Text. Earlier versions of ProTabs generated hidden text for a different type of rule. This will delete these old rules.
Rec... Lists all previously saved setups and upon selection sets the current table setup to those values.
Sav... Allows the saving of current setup values for use in other similar tables.
Set... accesses the setup menu exactly as if you accessed it from the menu bar. The Setup menu has two distinct areas. The upper area applies to all of the tab columns and the lower area to individual tab columns. There are exceptions in the submenus selected from the upper area. Each area is described in detail under Setup Dialog.
